Mayor and City Council

Five members — the mayor and four council members — elected at large by place. Every vote they cast in the published meeting is here, by name.

One mayor and four council members, elected at large by place to four-year terms, with elections on the first Tuesday in November. The council meets on the first and third Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m., and anyone may attend.

One thing is deliberately missing above. The city's own City Council page prints Place 1, Place 2 and Place 4 beside three of the members, and prints “Mayor Pro Tem” beside David Salazar Jr. with no place at all. Place 3 is the only one left and it would be easy to fill in, but the city does not print it, so this page does not either. A seat number invented for a real person is the kind of small false detail that discredits every correct thing around it.

Agendas, minutes and how each member voted

The city currently publishes its agendas as PDF documents behind a list of links, with a separate paid service bolted on to make the documents readable. Published as text instead, a meeting becomes something a resident can read on a phone, search, and have translated, in either language — with no document viewer, no download and no vendor in between.
