A demonstration. This is not the city's website. It is a working proposal for the City of Pharr, built with the city's real seal, officials, departments and video. Every agenda item, vote, vehicle and dollar figure is invented, and each page says so. A proposal for the City of Pharr

A city website nobody has to audit later

Accessibility is not a report you buy after the site is built. It is a property of how it is built. This is the City of Pharr's own seal, own officials, own departments and own video — rebuilt so that every page passes a conformance check before it is allowed to publish.

What this replaces, and what it costs you not to See the fleet dashboard

  • A website nobody has to audit later — WCAG 2.2 AA checked on every page, every build
  • Both languages, written — not machine-translated
  • 9 city vehicles on the road right now

Why you would not need to buy an audit

An accessibility audit tells you what is wrong after you have paid to build it wrong. It is a bill for a problem that a different build would not have had.

  • The check runs on every build, not once a year. Every page on this site is tested for a unique title, one h1, no skipped heading levels, alternative text on every image, a name on every control and link, a skip link, and no broken internal link. If any page fails, the build stops and nothing publishes.
  • The colours were checked before they were chosen. Every colour here is measured off the city's own seal, and every pair a reader sees is run through a contrast test that gates the deploy. Body text is 16.4:1 — above AAA.
  • The page a screen reader needs most is the one built best. The public record is a web page here, not a document inside a viewer.

Who decides

Your mayor and commission

The elected members and the office that carries out what they decide. Every one of those decisions appears first on a posted agenda — and on this build, every vote appears afterwards with each member's name against it.

Pharr sits on Business 83 in Hidalgo County — the Hub City, named for the highway department headquarters that landed here in 1932, on what was once called the longest Main Street in America. The international bridge at the south end of Cage Boulevard is the busiest produce crossing on the southern border.
