A demonstration. This is not the district's website. It is a working proposal built for Rio Grande City Grulla ISD, using the district's real campuses, trustees and seal. Every enrollment figure, bus, vote and dollar amount is invented, and each page says so. About this proposal

One platform, not nine vendors

What this is, what is real in it, and what it would replace.

What this is

This is a working proposal for Rio Grande City Grulla ISD, not the district's website. It was built to be looked at rather than described: every page here is real HTML the district could serve tomorrow, in both languages, and it is the same build that produces the board record and the bus map.

What is real and what is not

Real: the district's name and seal, all 17 campuses, the seven trustees and their offices, the superintendent, the enrollment of 9,482, the demographics, the geography of every campus on the map, and the Texas statutes cited on the meeting page.

Invented: every per-campus enrollment figure, every bus and its position, every agenda item, motion, vote and dollar amount. They are shaped like a district this size, and every page that shows one says so.

What it replaces

  • Today

A website rented from a CMS company

    Instead

Pages the district owns, in two languages, that pass an accessibility check on every build.

  • Today

    Agendas posted as scanned PDFs

    Instead

Meetings published as text: every motion, every roll call by name, searchable and translatable.

  • Today

A bus routing system nobody outside transportation can see

    Instead

A live map for staff and a one-screen answer for parents, from the same feed.

  • Today

Mass texts bought from a fourth vendor

    Instead

Notices that come from the same record as the page, so they cannot contradict it.

  • Today

Nine logins for staff, four for families

    Instead

One account each, and the district holds the record.

Built to be readable, and checked that way

  • Every colour on this site is measured off the district's own seal, and every text pair a reader sees was run through a contrast check. Body text is 15.9:1 — WCAG AAA.
  • Every page is checked at build time for a unique title, one h1, no skipped heading levels, alt text on every image, a label on every control, a skip link, and no broken internal link. The build fails if any of that breaks.
  • The reader can enlarge the text, raise the contrast and reduce motion from the top of any page, and the choice is remembered on their device.
  • Nothing on this site loads a third-party script. The one page that shows a map serves the map library from this host and carries its own security policy.
