The same records the public pages are built on, turned around to face the people who do the work. Four roles, because a city manager, a supervisor in the yard at six and a clerk at the window do not need the same screen.

The campuses, the trustees and the seal are real. Every enrollment figure, bus position, vote and dollar amount on this site is invented, and each page that shows one says so.
- City Manager
Opened at 7:30 with coffee, before the department heads arrive. A good day is a screen where nothing is red and it closes in eight seconds.

Opened at 6:00 in the yard, on a phone, before the tailgate meeting. If he cannot dispatch from this screen he will keep using the whiteboard.

Opened when the window unlocks at eight and left open on the second monitor all day. This is a today screen; the twelve-month trends live below the fold.

Opened in the shop at 6:15 with the bay doors going up. Two questions before the crews roll: what cannot go out today, and what is about to strand somebody on Expressway 83.
