A demonstration. This is not the district's website. It is a working proposal built for Roma ISD by Pragmatic Business Solutions, using the district's real campuses, trustees, seal and board record. The district does not operate this site. Per-campus enrolment and every bus on the map are demonstration data, and each page that shows one says so. Accessibility

What this site commits to, how it is checked, and what is still missing.

The standard

This site is built to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Body text exceeds Level AAA for contrast. Automated checks catch roughly a third of real barriers, so they are a floor and not a certificate: this page says what is checked automatically and what is not.

Checked on every build

  • A unique page title, one h1, and no skipped heading level.
  • Alternative text on every image, and a name on every control and link.
  • A skip link and a main landmark on every page.
  • Every internal link resolves to a page that exists.
  • The language of every page is declared, and each page names its counterpart in the other language.
  • Colour is never the only way information is given — every state carries a word.
  • On the bus map, two markers can end up close enough to overlap at some zoom levels, which is a limit of any pan-and-zoom map. Every bus is also a row in the table under it — the equivalent control WCAG 2.5.8 allows — and zooming in separates them.

Not checked automatically

Whether the writing is actually clear. Whether a screen reader user can complete a task, not merely reach it. Whether the Spanish reads as Spanish rather than as translated English. Those need people, and this proposal does not pretend a script replaces them.
