What the job is
- Inspect properties on complaint and on patrol.
- Document violations with photographs and written notes.
- Issue notices and follow each case to compliance or citation.
- Explain the ordinance to owners in the language they speak.
- Testify in municipal court.
What you need
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Texas driver's licence.
- Texas code enforcement officer registration within one year of hire.
- Bilingual English and Spanish.
What helps
- Prior code, building or inspection experience.
- Pay
- $17.40 – $20.10 an hour
