Code Enforcement Officer

Work code cases in the field: tall grass, junk vehicles, illegal dumping and unsafe structures.

What the job is

  • Inspect properties on complaint and on patrol.
  • Document violations with photographs and written notes.
  • Issue notices and follow each case to compliance or citation.
  • Explain the ordinance to owners in the language they speak.
  • Testify in municipal court.

What you need

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Texas driver's licence.
  • Texas code enforcement officer registration within one year of hire.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.

What helps

  • Prior code, building or inspection experience.
Pay
$17.40 – $20.10 an hour
