Police Officer

Patrol, answer calls for service, and work with the people who live here. TCOLE licence required, or in the academy now.

What the job is

  • Patrol an assigned district and answer calls for service.
  • Write clear, complete reports the same shift.
  • Investigate crashes and take statements.
  • Testify in municipal and county court.
  • Work with schools, businesses and neighbours on prevention.

What you need

  • TCOLE peace officer licence, or currently enrolled in a licensed academy.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid Texas driver's licence and an acceptable driving record.
  • Pass a background investigation, a physical, a psychological evaluation and a drug screen.
  • United States citizen.

What helps

  • Bilingual English and Spanish.
  • Prior patrol experience.
  • Military service.

$52,400 a year to start, plus certification pay
