Water Plant Operator
Run and monitor the treatment plant, keep the required logs, and hold the licence the state requires for the job.

What the job is
- Operate treatment and pumping equipment across an assigned shift.
- Take samples, run tests and record results the way TCEQ requires.
- Watch pressures and levels and respond to alarms.
- Perform routine maintenance and report anything you cannot fix.
- Keep the plant clean and the logs current and legible.
What you need
- A valid TCEQ Class D water operator licence, or the ability to get one within six months of hire.
- A valid Texas driver's licence.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Able to lift 50 pounds and to work outdoors in Valley summer heat.
- Able to be on call and to respond within 30 minutes.
What helps
- Class C licence.
- Two years in a water or wastewater plant.
- Bilingual English and Spanish.
- Pay
- $19.75 – $23.40 an hour, depending on licence class
