On Wednesday, August 12 the Rio Grande City Economic Development Corporation, in partnership with RGCGISD and Workforce Solutions, announced a High Demand Job Training grant.

Workforce Solutions Lower Rio Grande Valley is providing $86,000 through the grant, and the Rio Grande City EDC is contributing a matching investment of $87,000 — a combined investment of approximately $173,000 in workforce development.

The partners said the initiative shows what schools, workforce boards and economic development can do together.
