On Friday, August 14 the City of Rio Grande City received Community Project Funding in the amount of $700,000 for the Rio Grande City Wellness Center at Fort Ringgold Municipal Park, presented by U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar.

Congressman Cuellar spoke about the importance of projects like this one and said he looks forward to seeing the wellness center completed.

Mayor Gilberto Falcón thanked the congressman for the funding and thanked city administration for pursuing the opportunity.

Parks and Recreation Director Marco Treviño described what the center will hold and how residents will use it.
