Get a building permit

Building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fence, sign and demolition permits.

How to do it

  1. Check the zoning for the property before you buy materials.
  2. Bring a site plan and the contractor's registration to Planning & Code Enforcement at City Hall.
  3. Pay the permit fee. Fees are set by ordinance and posted at the counter.
  4. Call for each inspection as the work reaches that stage. Do not cover work before it is inspected.
