Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 23 August 2026
Qué Hay is built for a community in which a large share of the audience is older, uses larger text, or relies on a screen reader. Accessibility is a functional requirement of this product, not a compliance exercise.
1. Our standard
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, across the website and our mobile applications.
2. What that means in practice
- Colour contrast is verified against AA thresholds in both light and dark appearance, and in both of our display themes.
- The site works at 200% text size and at 320 pixels wide without loss of content or function.
- Every interactive control is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Images and icons carry text alternatives; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Motion is minimal and respects the reduce-motion setting on your device.
- The language of each page is declared, so screen readers pronounce Spanish and English correctly. Where a phrase switches language mid-sentence, that phrase is marked so it is read properly.
- A larger-text, higher-contrast presentation is available and is the default in our Winter Texan mode.
3. Known limitations
This site is in active development. Some pages have not yet been audited by a person using assistive technology, and third-party components such as maps may not fully meet our standard. We publish an accessibility and performance report with each release.
4. Tell us
If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, we want to hear about it and we will fix it. Write to [email protected] describing the page and what happened. We respond within five business days.
