What the city sees
The same records the public pages are built on, turned around to face the people who do the work. Four roles, because a city manager, a clerk at the window and the shop at 6:30 in the morning do not need the same screen.

Every number on these four screens is representative and invented, and so is every vehicle position on the fleet map. The shapes, the thresholds and the exceptions are real ones for a city this size, and the map itself is the real city.

Opened at 7:45 in the morning with coffee. A good day is a screen where nothing is red and it closes in eight seconds.
Open the view - Public Works Supervisor
Opened at 6:15 in the yard, on a phone, before the tailgate meeting. If he cannot dispatch from this screen he will keep using the whiteboard.

Opened when the window unlocks at eight and left open on the second monitor all day. This is a today screen; the twelve-month trends live below the fold.

Opened in the shop at 6:30 with the bay doors going up. Two questions before the crews roll: what cannot go out today, and what is about to strand somebody on the shoulder of US 83.
