SPI BikeFest, Roar by the Shore, is South Padre Island's motorcycle rally: a long weekend of concerts, vendor rows and beachfront programming on an island that runs on a completely different calendar from the rest of the Valley.

South Padre's season is inverted. While the mainland Valley empties out in summer and fills in winter, the island's year is driven by spring break, summer and the fishing calendar — and BikeFest sits at the front of it.

If you have never been

It is loud, it is on the beach, and the island is small — everything is within a short distance of everything else, which is both the charm and the traffic problem.
